Detention

During detention, you have the right to remain silent, and the right to ask for an attorney. It is important to note that in some cases, detentions do lead to an arrest. If police have a warrant or probable cause to arrest you, you will not be free to leave as you would upon conclusion of a detention. While 'Detention' might be a mess, it is a glorious one that makes a sort of weird sense, even after it takes a good while to get started, succeeding as much as it does on pure chutzpah.

The Ravalli County Adult Detention Center is responsible for the care and custody of persons who are temporarily incarcerated as required by law. Inmates will always be treated in a humane and courteous manner without regard to personal prejudices or feelings. The Detention Center exists solely to protect and maintain the peace and security of the community.
